EDS Videography & Photography Insight

Good production quality does not automatically make content effective.

A beautifully filmed video can still underperform if:

The message is unclear

The opening is too slow

The content is too long for the platform

The audience cannot understand the value proposition

There is no clear next step

The creative was not designed for the intended channel

EDS therefore plans visual content around:

Objective + Audience + Message + Platform + Creative Format + Distribution

For example:

A corporate profile video may need to establish credibility and explain capabilities.

A social-media Reel may need to capture attention within the first few seconds.

A product video may need to demonstrate functionality clearly.

An event video may need to capture atmosphere and stakeholder participation.

The same production style should not automatically be used for every purpose.

Video production is a critical element of modern marketing, offering a powerful way to communicate your brand’s story, showcase products, and engage your audience. Whether you’re new to video marketing or looking to refine your approach, here are some frequently asked questions about video production.

Yes! Please provide us with the details of your project so that we can send you a quote as soon as possible. We are available from 9 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday.

All of our quotes include all services, so you know exactly what you’re paying for (and not paying for) at proposal stage. We can also arrange additional services during the production process if necessary, but we guarantee that we will deliver the work as set out in the proposal for the costs agreed.

We require payment in two installments: 50% on confirmation of the job (refundable deposit), and 50% on delivery. This allows us to begin production immediately and spreads the cost for you over time.

We work hard to communicate clearly with our clients, and we encourage them to be as involved in the production process as they desire. If you would like a detailed initial brief at the beginning of the project, please let us know when we are discussing your project. We will send you a written brief or schedule a phone call or face-to-face kick-off meeting. If you would rather we take care of everything, that’s fine too! All of our Account Managers are experienced writers and editors who will ensure that you are constantly kept abreast of the project’s progress.

The space needed for a shoot will depend on the nature of the work. We will always consult with you at the beginning of the project to advise on whether suitable spaces are available.

The amount of equipment that we need for a shoot is dependent on the nature of the shoot. We usually keep our filming material in suitcases (the size of hand luggage) and flight cases for bigger items such as lights. We need a space where we can store the equipment securely when it is not being used.

The amount of time we need to film depends on the project. A talking head film can take just a couple of hours, and we recommend filming 1-2 days for case studies; however, we’ve also produced 2-3 year documentaries. If you’d like guidance on how long we’d suggest for a project, please get in touch at info@eds.ae

Depending on the project, our interviews usually last between 30 minutes and an hour. If you are interested in contributing to an interview or want to know more about working with us, please send an email to info@eds.ae

We can send a crew ranging from one filmmaker to twenty videographers, directors, and producers. We agree on the size of the crew at the brief-stage so that you know exactly who will be coming, who you can get in touch with and who you are paying for.

Each film will be assigned a director who has been briefed about what needs to be captured from each day of shooting.

We will send you a list of questions in advance of the interview. Please be sure to review them and be prepared to answer them on camera. We will need access to the room for one hour before filming begins, so we can set up our equipment and ensure that everything is working correctly.

When being interviewed, it is a good idea to wear clothing that won’t compete with your words. Generally, we ask interviewees to avoid bold colors or big patterns as well as tight stripes which can interfere with the screen. It is also recommended not to wear big statement pieces of jewelry, as they can distract from what you are trying to say!

We will provide templates to you before the writing process, so that you can see the best way to format your scripts.

Our team are also experienced photographers, and we’re happy to capture still images at the same time as video. In some cases this may involve an additional cost, but we’ll be sure to discuss that with you in advance when you request a quote.

We can edit promotional films for conferences, events and product launches quickly. We will also edit social media clips on-site if needed. Other projects like animated explainers, impressive promos or longer-form documentaries require more time in post-production.

We frequently include clients’ self-shot clips in our films. If you haven’t done so already, we’d be happy to send over a document with our recommendations about how to make your self-shot footage as powerful as possible.

Of course! Our motion graphics team can design custom animations for your project to highlight your key messages.

We provide two rounds of edits, delivered through Frame.io, an online commenting platform. We suggest using the first round for structural and tonal changes and the second round for final tweaks. If your organization requires more rounds than this, we’re happy to factor this into the budget!

The subtitling fee will be included in your project budget and should be discussed with our team upon briefing us about your video.

You can take still images from your video by capturing a frame from the video. However, if your still image needs are more specific, we recommend taking dedicated photos on set for higher quality.
